What is Laser Marking?
Laser marking is used to create defining marks on a variety of materials. Basically, some substances of a given materials are removed by the laser marking process which produces color changes that make the markings contrast with the surrounding materials. Laser marking is sometimes known as “laser etching”, but it is different than laser engraving.
Why Should I Consider Laser Marking?
- The marks are permanent. You can add identification codes, labels, lot codes, serial numbers, and more and be assured that the marks are permanent.
- Laser marking occurs on top of the item and does not reduce the strength of the item.
- Laser marking makes products, parts and components easy to identify. Mistakes are reduced when parts are easy to identify.
- Easily identifiable parts reduce injuries and mistakes, and therefore save companies money.
- Hard to reach places can be reached with laser marking.
- The process is fast.
- There are no environmental issues to worry about.
- Laser marking is affordable.
- The process is flexible; changes can be made easily.
